From the downright bizarre to the beautiful Although many might just think 1st of May is the start of a new month, this date actually marks one of the most significant events in the fashion industry. Of course, here, we’re referring to the renowned Met Gala. An evening where fashion designers, artists, models, musicians and actors make some jaw-dropping entrances onto the red carpet. The gala is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and celebrates the revealing of the fashion institute’s blockbuster exhibition. Each year the Met Gala is centred around the theme of the latest exhibition, with previous events focusing on China: Through the Looking Glass, Punk: Chaos to Couture, and this year’s exhibition theme being Camp: Notes on Fashion. Recruiting Fashion Shoot Producers and Art Directors specifically is a lovely experience as it’s a small world and you get to know people really well. I’ve become very close to some of my clients and candidates and like to catch up with them from time to time to make sure they’re happy (and to catch up on gossip!) I always make time for potential candidates who approach me and try to help them with advice or CV tips as it feels good to give something and add value.”...

“Over-familiarity with our surroundings can blind us, so trying to keep fresh eyes and an open mind always helps, it’s a lesson anyone trapped in a place, job, or situation they find boring can learn from.” Pau Buscato picked up a camera in 2010 and very soon quit his 9-5 job to pursue his photography career. His discipline, patience and determination to get the perfectly crazy shot is impressive, sometimes spending 7 hours and in the same location and taking hundreds of attempts. It pays off for the pure joy for the photographer to capture it and also the audience for the butterflies when they experience and understand the picture. Click here for the full article in Vice.
